The Associazione Calcio Pavia is an Italian football club from Pavia . The club was founded in 1911 and plays its home games in the Stadio Pietro Fortunati , which can seat 6,000 spectators. AC Pavia currently played in the Lega Pro Prima Divisione , the third highest division in Italy .

history

AC Pavia was founded in 1911 in the town of Pavia with a good seventy thousand inhabitants in Lombardy . At the time of its establishment, the club was called FBC Pavia , pronounced Foot Ball Club Pavia . In 1928 the club name had to be changed because FBC was derived from English and this did not please the fascist rulers. The club was now called FC Pavia . After various name changes, including the re-acceptance of FBC Pavia after the end of Mussolini's dictatorship , the current name, AC Pavia , was introduced in 1960.

Under the first name, Pavia had played in the Prima Categoria for three years, which at the time was equal to the Italian football championship. After relegation in 1922, the club spent a few years in the lower leagues before being promoted to the now-established Serie B again in 1935 . You could stay there for two years before relegation to Serie C in 1937 . It wasn't until 1953 that Pavia reappeared in the Italian second division. In the 1952/53 Series C season, they finished first in front of US Alessandria and rose to Serie B just like them. There succeeded in the first season with thirteenth place, the relegation, in the second season after promotion, however, they came last and had to relegate together with FBC Treviso . To date, the 1954/55 season was the last in which AC Pavia was second class. After the descent, the fall into the amateur sector and a new establishment followed only a short time later. Since then, for the past fifty years, the club has been commuting between Serie C1, today's Lega Pro Prima Divisione , and the top regional amateur leagues. Currently, the AC Pavia can be found in the Lega Pro Prima Divisione, where they had occupied thirteenth place in the Girone A in the 2010/11 season as a climber from the Lega Pro Seconda Divisione and held the class.
