ALAN Award
The ALAN Award is a literary prize with which the A ssembly on L iterature for A dolescents of American English Teachers Association N ational Council of Teachers of English distinguishes each year those persons who with their life's work to the American youth literature have rendered outstanding services.
In addition to the Margaret Edwards Award , established in 1988, the ALAN Award is one of the most important prizes that American authors of young books can receive for their complete works, and the most important that can be given to experts in the field of youth literature (scholars, publicists, librarians).
