In the years 1949 to 1967, presented Arth-Rigi Railway (ARB) four wheel railcars CFeh 2/4 11-14 in operation. The railcars are now referred to by Rigi-Bahnen as BDhe 2/4 , No. 14 since delivery.

history

The Rigi-Bahn (RB) railcars were ordered in 1947 by what was then Arth-Rigi-Bahn (ARB). This was necessary because modern and efficient vehicles were used, which were at times very strong Stossverkehr also able bergseits a control car or Vorstellwagen to push. The SLM was entrusted with the construction and design of the mechanical and structural parts venture. The SAAS delivered and installed the electrical equipment. The first two railcars were delivered in July and August 1949. In 1952 a third railcar was commissioned, which was delivered in 1954.

In the years 1958 to 1960, three Bt control cars were purchased to replace the previously used presentation cars. They were built by SWS and SAAS. The first two shuttle trains went into operation in the 1958/59 winter season. The third Bt 23 control car followed in 1960.

In January 1964 the order for the delivery of another shuttle train unit with the BDhe 2/4 14 and the Bt 24 was placed. The railcar was redesigned compared to its predecessor. The box is a little longer and the interior has had various changes. It was delivered in 1967.

Technical

The two-axle bogies with the motors and the brakes are each driven on one axle. The sequence of letters "he" means that it is a purely electric cogwheel vehicle.

In winter, brackets are attached to the side walls of the railcars and control cars so that skis can be stowed outside the vehicle.

Conversions

In 1992, railcar 11 was converted by Ramseier & Jenzer and ARB. The car body has undergone a total interior and exterior renovation. Instead of the pantograph, the railcar received a single-arm pantograph and square headlights instead of round lamps. The railcar was also given the new coat of paint.

Coloring

The original color was white in the window area and blue with a fine white decorative line. In the years 2005 to 2006, the color scheme was adapted to the three other railcars, analogous to the BDhe 2/4 11, which had been repainted since its conversion in 1992, the window area was new, light blue, against the car floor white with light blue dots tapering off. The new paint is also known as the “Snowflake paint”.
