AR Ursae Majoris is a binary star system in the constellation Great Bear at a distance of about 330 light years . The system belongs to the AM Herculis Stars , which belong to the Cataclysmic Variables . The system has an unusually strong magnetic field in excess of 200 megagauss (20,000 tesla ).
