The ASC Police ( Arabic الجمعية الرياضية والثقافية للشرطة, DMG al-Ǧamʿiyya ar-riyāḍiyya wa-ṯ-ṯaqāfiyya li-š-Šurṭa ) is a Mauritanian football club from Nouakchott , the capital of Mauritania, founded in 1978 . The club is the team of the Mauritanian police. With 7 championships won, ASC Police, together with AS Garde Nationale , are the record champions in the first division . For a long time, both clubs dominated the league and played the championship among themselves. The last title was won in 1991. Since then, the club has disappeared more and more into mediocrity, the dominating team is now FC Nouadhibou . The club can no longer build on its early successes.
