The ASG Vorwärts Fünfeichen was a German football club from the military location Fünfeichen . The army sports community existed until 1989.
Athletic career
Vorwärts Fünfeichen played alongside the second Neubrandenburg army sports club Vorwärts Neubrandenburg for several decades always under-class. The ASG obtained most of its players from conscripts who were stationed in Fünfeichen. The sporting rise of the club from Mecklenburg began with the dissolution of Vorwärts Neubrandenburg ordered by the Army Sports Association Vorwärts . Since the NVA only supported two GDR league players with Vorwärts Dessau and Vorwärts Stralsund for financial reasons , large parts of the team moved to Fünfeichen.
In 1985 Vorwärts Fünfeichen rose from the district class to the district league Neubrandenburg . Fünfeichen won the championship in the Neubrandenburg district already in the opening season . The army sports association forward remained consistent, however, and prohibited participation in the promotion round to the GDR league. Second placed TSG Neustrelitz moved up for Fünfeichen . At least in the FDGB Cup , the ASG was allowed to compete, but lost in the first main round of the BSG Stahl Brandenburg in front of 3,000 spectators with 0: 2. In the following season, the team drove back to the runner-up. After further secured midfield positions, Vorwärts Fünfeichen was dissolved during the 1989/90 season and withdrawn from the game.
