ASKÖ Blue Elf Linz

The ASKÖ Blaue Elf Linz is a sports club from the Upper Austrian capital Linz .

history

Founded in 1931 as a workers' sports club, they initially played under the name ASK Blue Star . In 1938 it was dissolved for political reasons and merged with two other clubs. The Ostmark sports club was created from the Blauer Elf, the Donau Sports Club (today ASKÖ Donau Linz ) and the SV Kleinmünchen . In the 1939/40 season the SK Ostmark was included in the regional league, but did not last long during the Second World War , as the combat team was severely weakened by the many drafts. In 1940 SK Ostmark stopped playing and was merged with ASK Rapid Linz . After the war ended, Blaue Elf Linz was re-established.

Blauer Elf Linz played in Upper Austria for two seasons (1978/79 and 1979/80). Landesliga, which was the third highest league in Austrian football at the time.

Club operation

Blauer Elf Linz is based in the “Wasserwaldstadion” on Teutschmannweg in the Kleinmünchen district . In addition to the football section, there are also tennis , sport shooting and stick shooting sections . In addition to the seniors, the football section has a combat team and 1B team. However, special emphasis is placed on young talent.

The club currently has around 550 members, of which the football section is the largest with over 280 members. In the 2016/17 season the fighting team plays in 1st class middle .
