history

The name Ditmarsia is supposed to recall the history of the well-fortified tribe of the Dithmarscher , who defended the free peasant republic on the west coast of today's Schleswig-Holstein from all enemies from the time of Charlemagne to 1559 .

In addition to various other sports, ATV Ditmarsia has been rowing since 1896 ; she received her first rowing boat in 1899 and moved into her own boat rooms in the Seeburg in 1911 , which the Ditmarsen used until the beginning of May 2013. In addition to rowing excursions, racing rowing reached its peak from the mid-1950s under the direction of Karl Wiepke, an internationally recognized specialist. At times the Ditmarsen eight was the fastest eight in Germany. The Ditmarsia achieved 170 victories on all major European regatta courses. Including the European championships in eighth in Mâcon (1959), in four in Prague (1961) and eighth at the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome .

In the 1962/63 financial year, Ditmarisa was a suburb of the Academic Gymnastics Association (ATB), as was the 2006/2007 financial year.
