A Different Breed of Killer is a deathcore - band , which in 2006 Knoxville , Tennessee was founded (USA). They released their debut album I, Colossus on April 29, 2008.

history

The band was formed in October 2006 and by playing a few concerts, A Different Breed of Killer increased their popularity in the deathcore scene. After less than a year, the band signed a contract with Rise Records and released I, Colossus , which received positive reviews overall. The band toured with bands like Whitechapel , Through the Eyes of the Dead , and Impending Doom .

After that, A Different Breed Of Killer announced that they were preparing the second album called "The City". The album is being produced by drummer Nija Walker, who has studied recording technology for eight years and has already worked with mastering expert Seva at SoundCurrent Mastering in Knoxville. The album is also being mastered by Jamie King ( Between the Buried and Me ) in The Basement Recording in Winston-Salem . The special thing about the recordings will be that the album Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound will be released. According to the band, this is "the first time this has happened to a death metal album."

The band also announced that they had separated from Rise Records and that they were looking for a new label for the new album.

At the beginning of 2010, rumors circulated that the band had split up. However, these have not been confirmed. On the band's Facebook page, they announced in May 2010 that they would record the soundtrack for the drums. Since then there has been no further news about the status of the album or the band. Rumors about the separation of the band have not been confirmed or denied so far.

style

The band's sound is described as a mixture of grindcore , metalcore and death metal . Characteristic is the aggressiveness of the pieces as well as the breakdowns typical of deathcore .
