action

The city of Austin has increased cases of child abuse and several children are still missing. Ben Simms is involved in the investigation with his colleague Roland when his wife Lori is suddenly shot. Now the case is withdrawn from the father of a ten-year-old daughter. Instead, he should support his young, inexperienced colleague Daphne in the search for an "avenging angel". In an act of vigilante justice, the black-clad perpetrator tries to kill all sex offenders who have committed themselves to children . Ben's daughter Cassie is also at risk, even though she is learning self-defense in a martial arts class.

When the avenging angel catches a perpetrator inflagranti near a playground, Ben and Daphne are there. A short time later, Ben receives a message from his superior, Captain Carlton, that the perpetrator, John Cutter, is also Lori's murderer. When Cutter is about to be moved to another prison, Ben himself feels a thirst for revenge, but the unknown avenger comes before him. On the run, this Roland attacks and suddenly stands across from Ben, who lets him go. Because of this behavior, he is temporarily suspended from duty. Meanwhile, Daphne determines that Scott Sherwin might be the Angel of Revenge because of his military past.

Scott trains regularly with Cassie in the mansion of her "aunt" Eve Richards, who has multiple sclerosis . When Ben and Daphne interrogate him, they learn that Roland was already there. Daphne determines that Cutter must have been poisoned by a cop before the fatal shot, and when Ben is uncovering the old MacGruder case, which his current boss was involved in, Cassie is kidnapped. When Ben and Daphne take up the chase, Ben realizes the Angel of Revenge and Daphne learns that John Cutter had an unknown brother named Roland.

He locks Cassie in a cage like several other children before. When Ben and Daphne arrive with the avenging angel, they overpower the sex offender. Eve is hidden under the avenger's mask. Ben lets her escape.
