The Aarbiwak is an SAC hut in the canton of Bern . The hut is located at an altitude of 2731  m above sea level. M. at the foot of the Lauteraarhorn in the area of ​​the municipality of Guttannen .

The unattended hut has 17 beds and is equipped with an emergency radio system. The approach is from the Grimsel hospice . The Lauteraarhorn, the Finsteraarhorn or the Studerhorn group can be reached. Other tours lead over the Strahleggpass, the Finsteraarjoch or the Agassizjoch to the Schreckhornhütte .

history

A first bivouac was built in 1973. The following winter it was destroyed by a storm. The present hut was completed in 1976.
