location

The district is located between Eichstätt and Pfünz in the Altmühltal to the right of the river, only a little away from the valley slope (= Leite). The eponymous Pietenfeld is located above the Leite .

history

Today's Pietenfeld an der Leithen has always consisted of two estates, the Landershofener Mühle, first mentioned in 1302 , which the Count von Hirschberg sold to the Eichstätter bishop at that time , and a fish estate; the fish water is first mentioned in 1348 when Ulrich Wilbrand von Parkstein bequeathed it to the Willibaldschor zu Eichstätt. In 1353 Konrad Attenfelder sold his forest, called the Attenfelders Leite, to the Eichstatt monastery of St. Walburg . Among other things, the fishing water changed hands in 1376 and passed from Burkhart von Seckendorff zu Konstein to Heinrich von Reichenau . In 1383 Margret the Laimingerin sold it to Count Palatine Friedrich. In 1406 a Konrad Müller received the mill as an episcopal fief . In the early 15th century, Seyfrid von Wemding owned the Fischlehen. It is known for 1452 that the Rebdorf monastery received taxes from the fishing water. A copper hammer existed from 1495 to 1528. In 1514, the then miller Hans Schmid returned his mill. In 1539 the bishop decided in the dispute between Landershofen and Pietenfeld over pasture and timber rights in the "Fischerleuthen" that these belong to Pietenfeld. In 1592 the bishop confirmed the sale of two fishing waters. In 1741 the location “Pietenfeldt an der Leitten” appears. In 1801, Johann Kaspar Bundschuh wrote , “Pietenfeld, a parish village on the mountains, including the Landertshofer Mahl-. Säg- und Güßmühle, also called Pietenfeld an der Leite, is counted. ”Even after the secularization , the two properties Mühle and Fischerhaus are again mentioned for Pietenfeld an der Leithen; today these exist as two farms.

In 1617, during the witch hunt in the Eichstätt monastery, Anna Spetin, alias Fischer Anna, von Pietenfeld an der Leithen, wife of Georg Lehen from Sappenfeld, was accused of witchcraft and, after 105 days in custody, was publicly executed on October 18, 1617 together with six other women in Eichstätt . She was the mother-in-law of Georg Guetmann von Pietenfeld and friends with Barbara Haubnerin von Adelschlag, both of whom were also executed four months later on February 16, 1618.

Pietenfeld an der Leithen was separated from the municipality of Pietenfeld on May 1, 1978 and incorporated into the large district town of Eichstätt.
