Aaron Goulding (born April 29, 1982 in Adelaide ) is a former Australian football player .
Career
Goulding played in the state of South Australia for the Para Hills Knights and Elizabeth City in the local national leagues before moving to the National Soccer League in Adelaide City in 2000 . After the team's withdrawal from the NSL at the end of the 2002/03 season, he came under at the successor club Adelaide United . In 2004 the NSL was discontinued.
Between 2005 and 2007 Goulding played for Adelaide United in the newly created Australian professional league A-League and reached the championship finals in 2007. He was substituted on in the 6-0 final defeat against Melbourne Victory at halftime when the team were already 3-0 down and were already outnumbered after being sent off. At the end of the season there was a change at Adelaide and, like his two defensive colleagues Kristian Rees and Adam van Dommele, he did not receive a new contract because, in the opinion of the club officials, they would be too slow for the league in the future. He then returned to the Para Hills Knights.
Goulding was one of the regular players of the Australian team at the U-17 World Cup in New Zealand in 1999 , which surprisingly advanced to the final and only lost to Brazil 7-8 on penalties (Goulding converted a penalty). In 2001 he was part of the Australian U-20 squad during qualification for the Junior World Cup in Argentina , but he was not nominated for the finals.
