Aaron Roterfeld (* in Innsbruck , Austria , as Marnus Flatz) is an Austrian musician. He is the front man and songwriter for the band Roterfeld .

Childhood and youth

Aaron Roterfeld was born under the real name Marnus Flatz in Innsbruck . He received piano lessons from his mother, who is a piano teacher, among others. At the age of 12 he began to write his own songs. At the age of seventeen, he left school against his parents' wishes and went to Africa , where he traveled from Botswana to Kenya until he was 18 .

Professional activity

Roterfeld became a radio presenter at ORF and switched to a private radio station in 1998. In 1999 he founded a recording studio in cooperation with the broadcaster and in 2001 developed an algorithm for the automatic control of radio programs using software .

Musically he has appeared in public since 2011. The song "STOP" from the album Blood Diamond Romance was in the top 10 of the German club charts (DAC) for 8 weeks.

At the end of November 2011, the song Great New Life was chosen by the Twilight magazine Icons Vampire Chronicles for the cinema campaign for the film Breaking Dawn - Until the end of the night - Part 1 . In 2012, Roterfeld was named Newcomer of the Year by the readers of the music magazine Sonic Seducer and nominated for the Amadeus Austrian Music Award . In 2015 it became known that he had been in Lebanon for a few weeks to write songs. He was hit by a tear gas projectile during a student demonstration. Shortly thereafter, Roterfeld published an alternative music video for the song Blood Diamond Romance, which is dedicated to the students' concerns for more transparency in politics.

Aaron Roterfeld is committed to education, humanitarian projects and animal welfare.
