Aaron Tippin (2005)

Aaron Tippin (born July 3, 1958 in Pensacola , Florida ) is an American country singer and songwriter.

Beginnings

Aaron grew up on a farm in rural South Carolina . As the son of a pilot, he developed a passion for flying in addition to his enthusiasm for country music . At the age of 16 he acquired his first flight license. Due to the poor professional prospects, however, he switched to the music business. In the beginning, he obtained the necessary financial support with odd jobs. In the evenings he performed in local clubs.

His first marriage failed early. As a talented athlete, he intensified his body building training and successfully took part in local competitions (on record covers and press photos, he later rarely failed to present his well-toned upper body in a macho pose).

Career

In 1986 Tippin moved to Nashville , where he found a job as a songwriter at the renowned Accuff Rose publishing house. A demo band found their way to the RCA label at the end of the eighties, which signed them a little later. In 1990 his first single, Something With A Ring On It, was released . His debut album You've Got To Stand For Something followed in the same year .

The breakthrough came in 1992 with his second album. Read Between The Lines reached platinum status and there was a number 1 hit with There Ain't Nothing Wrong With The Radio . Tippin co-wrote all songs. His streak of success continued with the third album. Call Of The Wild got gold. In the next few years, however, his singles did not get above the middle of the charts. In 1995 he married the songwriter Thea Corontzos. In the same year he achieved his second top position in the country charts with That's As Close As I'll Get To Loving You .

Sales of his records continued to decline. In 1996 he lost his record deal. Even with the smaller Lyric Street label belonging to the Disney group, he could not reverse the downward trend, although in 1998 his single For You I Will still managed a top ten placement. Only in 2000 did he make a comeback with his album People Like Us , which was also released on "Lyric Street" and which quickly achieved gold status. With the number 1 single Kiss This , he stayed in the country charts for 33 weeks.
