Abadzechen
The Abadzechen or Abzachen ( Adygeic абдзах , Russian абадзехи ) are one of the twelve ancient Circassian tribes . They are the second largest Circassian tribe in Turkey , in the Diaspora and in the world in general , after the Kabardians . The vast majority of them - around 500,000 people descended from the Muhajir of the Caucasus War - live outside their homeland in Turkey. The rest of the population is spread across Israel , Jordan , Russia , Syria and other countries. Originally the Abadzechen lived in the North Caucasus in the valleys of the Kurdschips , Pschecha , Pschisch and Psekups , in the border area of today's Russian Republic of Adygeja and the Krasnodar region .
The Abadzechen speak a sub-dialect ( Adygeic Абдзахэбзэ ) of the Adygeic language , the established written language of the Western Circassians. The Abadzech dialect is almost only spoken in villages that are almost exclusively inhabited by Abadzechen. The main religion of the Abadzechen is Sunni Islam . Traditionally the Abadzechen live from agriculture and cattle breeding .
