Abd al-Chaliq Mahdschub ( Arabic عبد الخالق محجوب ʿAbd al-Chāliq Mahdschūb , DMG ʿAbd al-Ḫāliq Maḥǧūb , in Sudanese pronunciation : ʿAbd al-Chāliq Mahgūb ; Alternative spellings Abdel Khaliq Mahjoub or Abdel Khaliq Mahgoub ) (born September 23, 1927 in Omdurman , † July 28, 1971 in Khartoum ) was a Sudanese politician.

Life

Bahdschub began studying at Cairo University in 1946 and joined the independence movement during this period.

From 1949 he was General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Sudanese Communist Party (SKP). In 1958 Mahdschub became chairman of the Anti-Imperialist Front party founded in 1953 . Between April 1967 and May 1969 Mahjub was a member of the constituent assembly of the bloc Union of Socialist Forces . From April to August 1970, President Numeiri Mahdschub had Mahdschub deported to Egypt , but then again tolerated the political activities of the SKP, although parties were banned in Sudan.

Mahdschub was arrested for his alleged involvement in the coup attempt left officers against President Jafar Mohammed an-Numeiri on 19 July 1971, on July 28, 1971 executed . The SKP was banned.
