Abdelhak Achik

Abdelhak Achik (born March 11, 1959 ) is a retired Moroccan boxer and bronze medalist at the 1988 Summer Olympics in the featherweight division . His brother Mohamed was also a boxer and is a bronze medalist at the 1992 Summer Olympics in the bantamweight division. The two medals of the Achik brothers were Morocco's first boxing medals at the Olympic Games.

Abdelhak Achik won the silver flyweight medal at the Arab Championships in Baghdad in 1980 and the featherweight gold medal at the Pan-Arab Games in Rabat in 1985 . He also won in 1983 in Casablanca , the Mediterranean Games bantamweight and won the featherweight even at the Mediterranean Games in 1987 in Latakia .

At the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul he fought his way to the medal ranks against Francisco Avelar, Omar Catarí and Liu Dong, but lost in the fight for the final against Giovanni Parisi , and was therefore eliminated with a bronze medal.

In 1989 he took part in the World Championships in Moscow , where he was only defeated in the quarterfinals against Kirkor Kirkorow (12:18). In 1990 he won the gold medal in featherweight at the Arab Championships and in 1991 a bronze medal at the Mediterranean Games in Greece.

After his active career, he opened a boxing club with his brother.
