Mohamed Abdelhak Achik (born February 1, 1965 ) is a former Moroccan boxer. He is the younger brother of the boxer Abdelhak Achik (* 1959), who won the Olympic bronze medal in featherweight in 1988.
Career
In 1988 he won the Canada Cup in Ottawa and the Ahmet Cömert tournament in Istanbul . He then started at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul , where he was eliminated in the preliminary round against Jimmy Mayanja in the bantamweight division.
At the World Championships in Moscow in 1989 he lost to Timofei Skriabin . In 1992 he won the African Olympic qualification in Casablanca and then started at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona . There he defeated Dieter Berg , Slimane Zengli and Remigio Molina in the bantamweight division before losing to Joel Casamayor in the semi-finals and thus winning bronze.
At the 1995 World Championships in Berlin, he lost to Ramaz Paliani . In 1996 he reached second place in the African Olympic qualification after he was eliminated in the final against Noureddine Medjehoud . So he received a starting place in featherweight at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta , where he was defeated in the preliminary round against Robert Peden.
