Abdoulie Bah (politician)

Abdoulie Bah , also known as Lie Bah (born June 24, 1948 in Bathurst , † June 16, 2018 in Banjul ), was a Gambian politician. From 2013 to 2018 he was mayor ( English Lord Mayor of Banjul ) of the Gambian capital Banjul. Bah was the city's 15th mayor.

Life

Bah attended the Muhammedan Primary School and then the Banjul City Council School.

In 1987 he was elected to the Banjul City Council from the Campama constituency. In the regional elections in Gambia in 2013 , Bah was able to prevail as a non-party candidate against his predecessor Samba Faal (APRC) and was elected Lord Mayor of Banjul with 51.2% of the vote.

In the regional elections in Gambia in 2018, Bah Rohey was defeated by Malick Lowe , the candidate of the United Democratic Party (UDP).

Bah died in Banjul a few days before his 70th birthday.
