Abdullo Tangriyev

Abdullo Tangriyev (also Abdullo Tangriev ; born March 28, 1981 in the Surxondaryo Province ) is an Uzbek judoka who won a medal at world championships, Asian championships or Asian games every year from 2002 to 2011. He competes in the heavyweight division (class over 100 kilograms).

Tangriyev won the 2000 Asian Junior Championships the title, at the Olympic Games in Sydney he was eliminated in his second fight. In 2001 he won two medals at the Universiade in Beijing: bronze in the heavyweight division and silver in the open class. At the Asian Games in 2002 he also won silver in the open class. In 2003 he won the Universiade in Jeju in both heavyweight and open class. At the Judo World Championships in 2003 in Osaka he received the bronze medal in the open class, at the end of 2003 he won the heavyweight title at the Asian Championships. In 2004 he won the tournament in Moscow and took third place both at the tournament in Paris and at the Asian Championships. At the Olympic Games in Athens , like four years earlier, he was eliminated in his second fight.

In 2005 Tangriyev received the gold medal in the open class at the Asian Championships, followed by bronze in the heavyweight division at the Asian Games in 2006. In 2007 he won the Asian heavyweight championships, at the Judo World Championships in 2007 he received bronze in the open class. In 2008 he defended his heavyweight title at the Asian Championships, at the Olympic Games in Beijing he reached the final, where he was defeated by the Japanese Satoshi Ishii and received the silver medal.

In 2009 Tangriyev won the bronze medal in the heavyweight division at the World Championships in Rotterdam , followed by silver at the Asian Games in 2010. In 2011 he won the Asian heavyweight championships in April, followed by the world championship title in the open class in Tyumen in October.

At the Olympic Games in 2016 , he finished fifth again.
