Abelardo Alvarado Alcántara (born June 8, 1933 in Acambay ) is auxiliary bishop emeritus in Mexico .
Life
Abelardo Alvarado Alcántara was ordained a priest on October 26, 1958 .
Pope John Paul II appointed him titular bishop of Thysdrus and auxiliary bishop in Mexico on April 26, 1985 . The Archbishop of Mexico , Cardinal Ernesto Corripio y Ahumada , ordained him episcopal on June 14 of the same year ; Co-consecrators were the auxiliary bishops Jorge Martínez Martínez and Francisco María Aguilera González .
On July 22, 2008, Pope Benedict XVI. his resignation request submitted for reasons of age.
