Abelardo Carabelli

Abelardo Osmar Carabelli (born June 9, 1960 in Buenos Aires ) is a former Argentine soccer player .

The defender made his debut in professional football at the age of 17. In 1979 he took part in the junior soccer world championship in Japan. He completed all six games and was next to Diego Maradona and Ramón Díaz Junior World Champion. In club football he played in Argentina for Loma Negra , Argentinos Juniors , CA Talleres , Huracán and Unión de Santa Fe . At Talleres he was tested positive for ephedrine in a doping control in 1982 and banned for a month and seven days. Carabelli was active abroad for Jorge Wilstermann in Bolivia. In France he played for Châtellerault from 1988 to 1990 and for Fontainebleau in 1991/92 . He then ended his career in Argentina at Estudiantes de Olavarría.
