Abraham Nava (born January 23, 1964 in Mexico City ) is a retired Mexican football player on the position of defender .
Life
society
Nava began his professional career with the UNAM Pumas , with whom he won the CONCACAF Champions Cup in 1989 and the Mexican championship in 1991 . He played twice with the Pumas in the finals of the Mexican championship against arch rivals America , both of which are located in the same district of Mexico City, Coyoacán . In 1988, America prevailed and in 1991 the pumas got the upper hand.
National team
Nava made his debut in the dress of the Mexican national team on March 12, 1991 in a game for the North America Cup against arch-rivals USA, which ended 2-2. Nava played his last international match on December 16, 1993 in a friendly against record world champions Brazil, which was lost 1-0.
Trainer
After his active career, Nava began to work as a coach and was responsible, among other things, for the offspring of the UNAM Pumas in the football school that has now been named after him. Despite his longstanding membership of the Pumas, his relationship with the club has been tense lately because he sees nepotism at work at the top of the club without much expertise.
