Abraham Rawitz
Abraham Rawitz ( Hebrew אברהם רביץ* January 13, 1934 in Tel Aviv , League of Nations mandate for Palestine ; † January 26, 2009 in Jerusalem ) was an Israeli politician and member of the Knesset .
biography
Rawitz studied at the Hebron Rabbinical College , was active in the Lechi organization and then served in the Israel Defense Forces . In 1988 he was first elected to the Knesset for the Degel HaTora party and in 1992 for the United Torah Judaism . He then sat alternately for both groups in the Knesset until his death in 2009. Rawitz was Deputy Minister for Construction and Housing from June 25, 1990 to July 13, 1992 , later he was Deputy Minister for Education from April 16, 2001 to February 28, 2003 , then from March 30, 2005 to April 4 , 2003 . May 2006 Deputy Minister for Welfare and Social Services . He was married to Avigayil and had 12 children. Rawitz lived until the end in Bayit VeGan , a district of Jerusalem .
