from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Abu l-Abbas Abdallah II ( Arabic أبو العباس عبد الله, DMG Abū l-ʿAbbās ʿAbd Allāh ; † July 27, 903 ) was the tenth emir of the Aghlabids in Ifrīqiya and ruled from 902 to 903.

Life

Abu l-Abbas Abdallah II took over the government of the empire in 902 after he had forced his father Abū Ishāq Ibrāhīm II to abdicate because of his tyrannical rule. He first tried to subjugate the autonomous Kutama Berbers in order to prevent the Ismaili mission of the Abū ʿAbdallāh al-Shīʿī . However, the fighting was unsuccessful. The attempt to replace the Malikite school of law with that of the Hanafis from Iraq also failed. Abdallah II was murdered on July 27, 903 by his son Abu Muda Ziyadat Allah .
