Académica Petróleos do Kwanda Soyo , usually just called Académica do Soyo , is a football club from the Angolan city of Soyo . It was founded on January 21, 1987.
The club welcomes its guests at the Estádio do Imbondeiro in Soyo. The stadium holds 10,000, according to other sources 3,000 spectators.
The club has not yet been able to win national titles. The successful qualification for the CAF Confederation Cup 2010 can therefore be regarded as the greatest success . However, he lost to FC Enyimba from Nigeria with 2: 3 in the first round and was eliminated from the competition.
After the club ended the 2012 season in third from last place, the club was relegated to the second division, the Gira Angola . In April 2014, the club president Avelino da Graça announced the goal of wanting to lead the club out of the second division and back into the Girabola in 2015 with financial, administrative and sporting efforts.
