The Acer Switch 3 is a convertible PC from the Taiwanese manufacturer Acer from 2017, which is based on the concept of Microsoft's Surface devices . In terms of equipment and price, it is more in the entry-level to mid-range segment.
Technical specifications
The IPS display of the Acer Switch 3 is 31 cm (12.2 " ) in size and has a display resolution of 1920 × 1200 pixels, which results in a pixel density of 186 pixels per inch (PPI). Pen input using the separately available Acer Active Stylus or Surface Pen possible.
The processor in the Acer Switch 3 is the Intel Pentium N4200, with 4 GB DDR3 RAM and 64 GB mass storage ( Hynix HCG4a2). The integrated graphics card is the Intel HD Graphics 505. A variant with the Intel Celeron N3350 processor is also available as an option.
A USB 3.0 Type-A connection, a USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C connection, a headphone connection, an SD card reader and the charging port are available as connections. There is also a 5-megapixel camera on the back and a 2-megapixel front camera.
Design and housing
The case of the Acer Switch 3 is gray and made of metal, as does the optional fold-out bracket with which the device can be set up. The dimensions of the Switch 3 are 1 cm × 29.5 cm × 20.1 cm and the weight is 877 g.
The keyboard cover, which is made of black plastic, is included with the device . This is attached to the underside of Switch 3 using magnets. There is no keyboard backlight, but there is a multi-touch pad .
