Acheles (mythology)
Acheles ( ancient Greek Ἀχέλης ) is a son of Heracles and the Lydian queen Omphale in Greek mythology .
In the scholias of Homer's Iliad he is named as brother or stepbrother of Hyllos and, like the latter, is named after a Lydian river, the Acheles , which runs at Sipylos and Smyrna . In other sources, the son of Herakles and Omphale is named Akeles , Agelaos or Alkaios .
