Achim Kemmerling

Achim Kemmerling (born May 5, 1973 in Lindau (Bodensee) ) is a German political scientist , economist and university professor .

Life

Kemmerling attended the Bodensee-Gymnasium Lindau from 1983 to 1992 . This was followed by a degree in political science, economics and history at the University of Tübingen , the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile and the Free University of Berlin . He graduated in 2000 with a diploma in political science. He then completed a degree program for Master of Arts in International Political Economy at the University of Warwick before 2006 at the Free University Berlin for doctorate in the field of political science doctorate was. Kemmerling then joined the Collaborative Research Center 597 Statehood in Transition at Jacobs University Bremen .

Kemmerling went to Budapest as an Associate Professor of Political Economy at the Central European University in 2010 . From 2012 to 2014 he was director of the Doctoral School in Political Science, International Relations and Public Policy . From 2014 he was also Associate Professor at the CEU Budapest's School of Public Policy. Since 2018 he has been the Gerhard Haniel Professor for Public Policy and International Development at the Willy Brandt School of Public Policy of the Political Science Faculty of the University of Erfurt . In April 2019 he became director of the Brandt School.
