The Politische Vierteljahresschrift ( PVS ) is a political science journal that has been published since 1960 with a focus on studies of the real constitution in the political process. It is published by the board of directors of the German Association for Political Science and was published quarterly by Westdeutscher Verlag, which was incorporated into VS Verlag für Sozialwissenschaften in 2004 and was the PVS publisher until 2010. The magazine was published by Nomos Verlag from 2011 to 2017, and by Springer VS since 2018 . The edition is 1,300 pieces. The articles submitted for publication go through a peer review process. The journal is listed in the Social Sciences Citation Index .

Special issues on key topics have been published at irregular intervals since 1969. Between 1979 and 1987 the reviews were published in a separate supplement under the title PVS literature .
