Achraf Kharroubi (born December 22, 1992 ) is a Moroccan boxer .

Career

In 2013 Kharroubi won the Moroccan championship title in the flyweight (-52 kg) for the first time. In 2014 he repeated this success. In the same year he also won the prestigious Copa Roberto Balado in Havana , Cuba .

In 2015 Kharroubi reached the final of the African Championships in which he faced the Algerian Mohamed Flissi , to whom he was defeated without a fight due to an injury. In the same year he also took part in the World Championships in Doha . Here he lost after a preliminary round victory over the silver medalist of the Southeast Asian Games 2015 Tanes Ongjunta, Thailand (3-0), in the round of 16 against the later silver medalist Yosvany Veitía , Cuba, with 2-1 judges' votes.

World Series of Boxing

In the 2015 season, Kharroubi started for the Morocco Atlas Lions in the World Series of Boxing . He fought here seven fights, of which he five, u. a. against Kelvin de la Nieve , won. Kharroubi finished third in his weight class at the end of the season, qualifying for the 2016 Olympic Games .
