Achterberg is a village in the Dutch municipality of Rhenen , Utrecht province . In 2017, 1,605 people lived in this place.

Achterberg is an agricultural village with monumental farms and is close to the Utrechtse Heuvelrug National Park .

In 1938, an important late antique deposit was recovered near Achterberg . The battle at Grebbeberg in May 1940 has u. a. took place here (the Grebbeberg lies south of Achterberg).
