The Ada River is a small river in the Hurunui District of the Canterbury region on New Zealand's South Island . It rises in a wetland of the Saint James Range of the Spenser Mountains .
The river runs in an unpopulated area for 10 km in the northeast, after the tributary of the Christopher River in a southeast direction and flows into the Waiau River .
