Adalbert Marksteiner , Hungarian Marosvári Béla , (born April 7, 1919 , † November 21, 1976 ) was a Romanian - Hungarian football player and coach . He played in the Romanian Divizia A and the Hungarian Nemzeti Bajnokság .
Career as a player
Adalbert Marksteiner began his career at Ripensia Timișoara , where he moved up to the first team in 1937 and immediately became the most successful goal scorer. On September 19, 1937 he made his debut in the highest Romanian league, Divizia A , and was able to win the championship at the end of the season. In the following season, Marksteiner and his team as runner-up behind Venus Bucharest clearly missed defending their title, but he himself became the most successful goalscorer with 21 goals.
In the fall of 1940, Marksteiner moved to Hungary and joined Csepel SC Budapest , which competed in the top Hungarian league, the Nemzeti Bajnokság . There he was able to win the championship again in 1942, 1943 and 1948 before ending his career.
National team
Marksteiner played for both the Romanian and Hungarian national football teams . He made his debut on May 7, 1939 for Romania against Yugoslavia . On May 16, 1943, Hungary played an international match against Switzerland .
Career as a coach
After the end of his active career, Marksteiner was engaged as a coach at some Hungarian clubs, but without being able to achieve any notable success.
