Diego Hofland (born September 21, 1990 in Rotterdam ) is a Dutch - German ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Füchsen Duisburg in the ice hockey league since October 2018 .

Career

Diego Hofland began his career as an ice hockey player in the junior division of the Düsseldorfer EG , for whose U18 juniors he was active in the German U18 league from 2005 to 2008 and in the German junior league from the 2006/07 season . From 2007 to 2010 the winger played for the second team of DEG in the fourth-class ice hockey regional league and made his debut for the professional team of DEG in the German ice hockey league in the 2009/10 season , after the native Dutchman had one in the meantime had received a German passport and thus no longer burdened the foreigner quota of his club. In his rookie year in the DEL, he remained pointless and punished in a total of 25 games.

In the 2010/11 season Hofland made his breakthrough in the DEG DEL team, for which he scored one goal in a total of 51 games and gave four assists. With a sponsorship license, he also made 61 appearances for Füchse Duisburg in the ice hockey league . He scored 27 goals and gave 27 assists. For the 2013/14 season Hofland then moved entirely to Duisburg, played there for two seasons and then moved to EC Bad Nauheim in the DEL2 . After two years in Bad Nauheim, Hofland switched to the Krefeld Penguins in the German Ice Hockey League. Since Hofland did not play with the Penguins in the DEL during the 2018/19 season, his contract was terminated by mutual agreement and he was able to switch back to the Füchsen Duisburg in the ice hockey league.
