Adalbert Zink
Adalbert Zink (born April 23, 1902 in Bromberg , † September 9, 1969 in Olsztyn ), a Polish citizen Wojciech Zink , was a Roman Catholic priest in Warmia . He was the vicar capitular of Olsztyn and vicar general of the diocese .
Life
Adalbert Zink's father came from Berlin , his mother from Woritten . After his ordination in 1925, he worked in several parishes in Warmia.
Before the Second World War he held his services in Polish and German and after the war he campaigned for German-Polish understanding.
In 1946 he came back from captivity, in 1951 he became chapter vicar in Olsztyn. In order for him to obtain approval from the Polish state to exercise this function, he became a Polish citizen. As an Infulat , Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński entrusted him with the office of Vicar General for the Archdiocese of Warmia .
When Cardinal Wyszyński was arrested by the Stalinists in 1953, he was the only bishop of the episcopate who dared to protest. This resulted in him being imprisoned until 1956.
Zink died in Olsztyn in 1969 and is buried in Gietrzwałd ( German Dietrichswalde ).
