Adalberto Giovannini

Adalberto Giovannini (born March 6, 1940 in Spiez ) is a Swiss ancient historian .

Adalberto Giovannini received his doctorate in 1965 with the thesis Recherches sur les origines du fédéralisme en Grèce at the University of Friborg . From 1967 to 1971 he was a research assistant at the Department of Ancient History at Heidelberg University . From 1971 to 1976 he taught as an assistant professor at the University of Geneva , and from 1976 until his retirement as a full professor in Geneva, Ancient History.

Giovannini's research interests are Greek and Roman constitutional history as well as Greek and Roman economic history .
