Adalgot of Veltheim

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Adalgot von Veltheim , also Adelgot , was the progenitor of the noble lords of Veltheim , who are mentioned as counts from 1149.

He and his brothers Lantfried and Bishop Burchard II of Halberstadt are probably of Swabian origin. There has been several speculations about his parents. His mother seems to have been a sister of the Archbishops Anno II of Cologne and Werner von Magdeburg .
