Adam Rhys Jones (born March 8, 1981 in Abercrave , Powys ) is a Welsh rugby union player . He plays as a pillar for the Welsh national team and the Ospreys .

Jones began his career at Neath RFC , which has provided players for the Ospreys regional selection since 2003, to which he has been a member since its inception. He reached the semi-finals of the 2002 World Cup with the Wales U21 national team. In August 2003 he ran for the first time for the Welsh men's selection, opponent was England . His first and so far only attempt in the national jersey was against Scotland in 2004 .

Jones was part of the team that in 2005 the Grand Slam in the Six Nations could win. Numerous other missions followed, so that he was consequently also nominated for the 2007 World Cup . He ran against Canada and Australia .

Under the new national coach Warren Gatland , Jones managed again in 2008 to win the Grand Slam at the Six Nations with Wales . He was used in four out of five games in this tournament. In 2009 he was nominated by Ian McGeechan for the British and Irish Lions tour to South Africa . He was used in the first two games, but was absent from the final game of the series due to an injury.

Because of his hairstyle, he and his national team colleague Duncan Jones are known as "Hair Bears".
