Adam John Virgo (born January 25, 1983 in Brighton , England ) is a former Scottish football player .

Career

Adam Virgo began his career in 2000 in his hometown at Brighton & Hove Albion . For his hometown club on the south coast of England, Virgo played in 76 league games until July 2005 in which he scored ten goals as a central defender. For a transfer fee of 1.5 million pounds, Virgo signed a contract with Celtic Glasgow from Scotland on July 20, 2005 . In his first year of membership, he won the small double from championship and league cup with Celtic . Under Gordon Strachan , Virgo appeared ten times in the Scottish Premier League , seven of them as a substitute. From 2006 to 2007 he was awarded to Coventry City in England for the entire season . As in Glasgow, he fell short of expectations with only 15 appearances. From 2007 Virgo was loaned to Colchester United for one season , where he fought for a regular place. From 2008 to 2010 Virgo played two years for Brighton & Hove Albion, after which he was active for Yeovil Town and the Bristol Rovers .

National team

Adam Virgo, although born in England, played a number of games for the Scottish B national team between 2004 and 2006.

In October 2013, Virgo ended his professional career at the age of 30.
