Adam Wodnicki (born December 22, 1951 in Przemyśl ) is a Polish pianist and music teacher.

Wodnicki studied piano at the Kraków Music Academy , later with Guido Agosti in Siena and with György Sebők at Indiana University Bloomington . Between 1973 and 1977 he was first assistant, then assistant professor at the Krakow Music Academy. From 1979 he taught at the Music School of the University of Texas in Austin, since 1980 he has been a professor at the Music School of the University of North Texas in Denton. In addition, he gave master classes in Beijing and Pretoria and leads an international piano course in Prague.

As a pianist, Wodnicki was three times the winner of the competition for young pianists of the Chopin Society in Warsaw. He has given concerts in many European countries, in the USA, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore and Israel and has been touring his home country Poland every year since 1991. He has recorded cello sonatas by David Dzubay , Robert Muczynski and Dmitri Shostakowitsch with Carter Enyeart , as well as works for piano solo by Ignacy Jan Paderewski , three piano trios by Robert Muczynski, piano concertos by Kazimierz Serocki , Tadeusz Baird and Jan Krenz and the complete works for piano and orchestra by Sigismond Stojowski .

In the Musica Iagellonica series , he published the first complete edition of Ignacy Paderewski's works; He is also the editor of the works of Piotr Perkowski , Stanisław Niewiadomski , Tadeusz Joteykos and Édouard Wolff . In 2014 he was awarded the Gloria Artis Medal for cultural merits from the Polish Ministry of Culture, and in 2015 the Golden Owl from the culture magazine Jupiter .
