history

The Adams Express Company , which had switched to financial performance , was planning to move to a better building as early as 1910. The originally planned 10 floors became more and more in the course of further planning, until it was finally over 30. The construction cost was $ 2 million. Kimball's design was based on Florentine architecture, especially at the end of the building.

During the Black Tom explosion , the building suffered severe damage, with a total of 300 windows broken.
