The Adams River is a river in the southwest of the Australian state of Tasmania .

River course

The river rises on the northern western slopes of Ibsen's Peak at the southern end of the Saw Back Range and flows first to the north between the Saw Back Range and the right on the eastern shore of Lake Gordon situated Ragged Range through. At the northern end of the Ragged Range, it turns sharply to the west and pours into Lake Gordon in a waterfall , whereupon it flows into the Gordon River . In Lake Gordon it takes up the Wedge River coming from the south .

The entire length of the Adams River runs through completely uninhabited territory in the Adamsfield Conservation Area , a state reserve.
