Adele ( Greek Άδελε ( n. Sg. ), [ ˈAðɛlɛ ]) is a local community and center of the municipality of Arkadi in the municipality of Rethymno on Crete . Adele is located a few kilometers east of the center of Rethymno and is mainly tourist-oriented with the long (a total of 16 km), north-facing sand and gravel beach towards the Cretan Sea. In addition to the actual Adele, which had 489 inhabitants in 2011, the locality also includes Kambos Adele or Adelianos Kambos (Αδελιανός Κάμπος) with 680 and Agia Paraskevi (Αγία Παρασκευή) with 246 inhabitants. While hotel after hotel is lined up on the beach, there are numerous bars and shops on the street behind it. The further hinterland is used for agriculture.
