Adelheid Stier (born December 11, 1852 in Potsdam , † April 8, 1942 ) was a German poet and storyteller.
life and work
Adelheid Luise Emilie Stier, born and raised as the daughter of a civil servant in Potsdam, first worked as a private teacher in Potsdam before moving to Gotha as a teacher in 1882 . In addition to her work as a teacher, she also worked as a poet and storyteller.
In 1900 her first lyric collection appeared under the simple title Poems . In 1905 the ballad band from the old days of the Thuringian homeland followed . Her volume Jesus of Nazareth: Pictures from the Gospels was published a year later . After 1920, various volumes of stories were published by her, including the children's story Ei ja / look da! , the Hermann Kaulbach picture book , where Adelheid Stier contributed the texts to the works of the painter Hermann Kaulbach (1846–1909) or the two volumes Schwarzrüsselchen and other stories as well as Quirlefitsch and other stories .
In April 1942 the author from Thuringia died at the age of 89.
