Adalward
Adalward († October 27, 933) was Bishop of Verden .
He was the 14th of the alleged, the 9th of the real series. His accession is uncertain, 909 or 910. He was in special esteem with King Heinrich I and appeared often at his court, and Adam of Bremen gives him the testimony of an excellent loyalty to the king and a completely impeccable life, also praises his Learning. He worked as a missionary under the Wends of the Verden Sprengels (Altmark and Wendland in Hanover) . Through him his relative and pupil Adaldag , later Archbishop of Hamburg, came to the royal court.
