The Adjutant Unteroffizier (abbr .: Adj Uof ) is a rank of the Swiss Army .
Professional NCOs usually hold this degree. In a militia function, the Adj Uof can be a logistics train driver, chief mechanic or accident train driver.
In the Swiss Army, the rank badge shows two angles, one above the other, with a Swiss cross (Ordonnanzkreuz) set in foliage and another angle above it.
Until the 1990s, Adj Uof was the highest non-commissioned officer rank. With Army 95 the degree of staff adjutant was introduced , with Army XXI the degrees of chief adjutant and chief adjutant were also introduced.
In foreign missions, the Adj Uof is referred to as a Warrant Officer (WO). NATO rank code : OR-8.
