Nothing is known about the period of service of the steamer until its use in the Imperial Navy; it was probably used in deep sea fishing . From March 1, 1915, the Admiral von Knorr was assigned to the semi-flotilla outpost Kiel as an outpost boat. From February 12, 1916, she served as a navigation training ship for the submarine school . In 1918 she was decommissioned and sold to Rendsburg ; further fate is unknown. A side elevation of the boat is reproduced in Gröner, vol. 8/2, p. 425.
