Admonish is a metal band formed in Stockholm , Sweden in 1994 . They are considered to be the first band in Sweden that is musically oriented towards Black Metal , but its lyrics and ideology towards Christianity . The band became known among other things through the appearance of the band members and twins Emil and Jonas at Pimp My Ride International .

history

In 1994 Emanuel Wärja and his friend Marcus started jamming. A short time later the matter was taken more seriously, Samuel replaced Marcus and also took over the lead vocals. Mattias and Per Sundström joined them and the desire to visit the studio grew. However, the plans fell apart in 1997 when Samuel left the band and Per switched from drums to guitar. Andre played the drums for a short time, in 1998 Joakim Simonsson took over the keyboard and Martin Norén was the new front man. At the beginning of 1999, with Robin Svedman Ex- Obsecration , a permanent drummer was finally found. The joy for the now six-member band was short-lived. Despite new studio plans, Joakim left the band, and the band rehearsals became more and more sparse due to obligations in other bands. In the summer of 1999 Admonish took a break, which lasted until the end of 2002.

Meanwhile Per had moved away and played for Crimson Moonlight . With Joel came another temporary guitarist, he left the band shortly before their reunion gig in 2003. Samuel stepped in as a replacement for this gig. Also in 2003, before the reunion gig, Jonas Karlsson took over from Taketh on bass, his twin brother Emil also left Taketh and started playing guitar at the end of 2003. In January 2005, Admonish finally managed to go into the studio after eleven years. On April 11, 2005, their EP Den Yttersta Tiden was christened at Club 666 in Stockholm.

On September 25, 2006, the fourth episode of Pimp My Ride International, a car tuning program, ran in the USA. The lucky ones were Emil and Jonas as well as their Audi 80, which they had inherited from their uncle. Through this program, many eyes were on Admonish, which was not only perceived as positive.

In 2007, their second EP, Insnärjd, was released on the Norwegian metal label Momentum Scandinavia. In the same year Admonish played at Elements of Rock , the largest Christian metal festival in Europe.
